Privacy Policy
Effective date: October 3, 2026
Short version: DiscordCredWatcher analyzes webpages locally in your browser to identify common Discord credential-phishing indicators. It does not transmit your browsing data to the developer or any third party.
Purpose of the extension
DiscordCredWatcher is a browser extension designed to warn users when a webpage displays common signs of Discord credential phishing. These signs may include lookalike domains, fake giveaways, unofficial login forms, suspicious QR-code login requests, and instructions involving session or authentication tokens.
Information processed
To provide its phishing-detection feature, DiscordCredWatcher processes the following information locally:
- The address and domain of the webpage being viewed.
- The webpage title and visible text needed to check for phishing indicators.
- Whether the webpage contains certain elements, such as a password field or a possible QR-code element. The extension does not read the contents of password fields.
Information stored locally
When a webpage produces a warning, DiscordCredWatcher may store an incident record in Chrome's local extension storage. A record may contain the webpage address, domain, timestamp, threat score, warning level, and the detection rules that were triggered.
If a user selects Continue Anyway, the complete address of that page may be stored temporarily for the current browser session so the same warning is not immediately displayed again.
Information not collected
DiscordCredWatcher does not collect, read, or store:
- Passwords or values entered into forms.
- Discord authentication tokens or session cookies.
- Personal communications, direct messages, or email contents.
- Financial, health, or precise location information.
Data transmission and sharing
DiscordCredWatcher does not transmit collected or processed webpage information to the developer, an external server, advertisers, analytics providers, data brokers, or other third parties. It does not sell user data and does not use user data for advertising, profiling, creditworthiness, or lending purposes.
Data retention and control
Incident records remain in Chrome's local extension storage until the user selects Clear incident log, clears the extension's stored data through Chrome, or uninstalls the extension. Temporary Continue Anyway exceptions are limited to the current browser session.
Remote code
DiscordCredWatcher does not download or execute remote code. All executable code is included in the extension package distributed through the Chrome Web Store.
Chrome Web Store Limited Use
The use of information received from Chrome APIs adheres to the Chrome Web Store User Data Policy, including the Limited Use requirements. Information is used only to provide DiscordCredWatcher's disclosed phishing-warning functionality.
Children's privacy
DiscordCredWatcher does not knowingly collect personal information from children or any other users.
